The renowned Pedro Kourí Institute of Tropical Medicine in Cuba opens its doors to doctors from all over the world to study the Master's Degree in Infectious and Tropical Diseases. This program seeks to contribute to global development in the fight against infectious and parasitic diseases.
With 30 editions already completed and two in progress, the Master's program offers a comprehensive approach to the infectious health-disease process. The fundamental objective is to provide physicians with theoretical and practical training that will enable them to make clinical diagnoses with laboratory support, as well as comprehensive therapeutic prescriptions for infectious, tropical and parasitic diseases.
With a duration of two years, the academic program consists of three interrelated diploma courses: Scientific Research in Health, Basic Principles of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, and Infectious Syndromes of Current Clinical and Epidemiological Importance. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences with professors and tutors during hospital visits, which will enrich their clinical and research training.
The curriculum includes a total of 14 independent courses, three integrative exercises (one for each diploma), three thesis workshops and a final methodological workshop. The culmination of the program is carried out with the presentation and defense of a research work (thesis), in line with one of the research lines of the Pedro Kourí Institute.
