San José del Lago Thermal Center
Located in the municipality of Yaguajay in the province of Sancti Spíritus in north-central Cuba, it has rustic facilities made of wood and guano, 3 recreational pools and is known for its peacefulness in a preserved natural environment. It is currently being exploited.
Its thermal resources are calcium bicarbonate mineral-medicinal waters from 3 springs, which can be enjoyed in a roofed thermal pool. It also has mud and table water. All this allows to treat multiple conditions.
Known as the "Mayajigua baths" for being located in the town of the same name, it consists of 13 hectares of extension, a lake navigable in small boats, between rivers and an exuberant vegetation of palms and coconut trees.
At the time, it had a small airstrip that facilitated the arrival of people in a fast way. Near the place is the Caguanes National Park and the Camilo Cienfuegos National Museum, which add attractions for nature and historical tourism.
