It aims to train professionals with a solid scientific background in Medical Education Sciences. The research topics will be related to scientific problems of the doctoral student's country of origin, although exceptionally, depending on the case and with prior authorization, the research could be carried out in Cuba.
The training of the candidate and their preparation for the Candidate exams are carried out under the guidance of the tutor, based on the individual program approved by the scientific degree commission of the institution.
Doctoral students must have had a physical stay of at least one year in Cuba during the entire enrollment period.
The exams required to obtain the scientific degree are:
1. Minimum exams.
* Foreign language (in the case of foreign doctoral students who are not Spanish speakers, the language is Spanish).
* Social problems of science and technology.
* Specialty.
2. Pre-defense exercise of the thesis before an evaluation team.
3. Thesis defense exercise before the Tribunal.
The doctoral training program has a total fee of twelve thousand USD (USD 12,000.00), divided into different stages:
1. Enrollment: USD 1,000.00, once your enrollment has been accepted by the Academic Committee.
2. Examinations to demonstrate mastery of the content of social problems in science and technology and the foreign language (languages approved for Spanish speakers are English, French, and German). The payments for each exam are USD 1,500.00 (total of USD 3,000.00).
3. Pre-defense: USD 1,500.00.
4. Defense: USD 2,500.00.
5. Tutoring and advising of USD 4,000.00 to be paid in two equal installments of USD 2,000.00 each. The first during the first 30 days after enrollment in the program and the second before the pre-defense.
