The doctoral training program is developed through a tutelage-based approach. This is coordinated by the Scientific Degree Commission of the entity.
In the Tutelage Program or track, the training of the candidate and their preparation for the Candidacy exams are carried out under the guidance of the tutor, based on the individual program approved by the scientific degree commission of the institution, the development of which is supervised by the Department or equivalent body (Doctoral Office), which will ensure the research performance of the candidate.
Doctoral students must have had a physical stay of at least one year in Cuba during the entire enrollment period.
The examinations required to obtain the scientific degree are:
1. Minimum exams.
• Foreign language (in the case of foreign doctoral students who are not Spanish speakers, the Spanish language is used).
• Social problems of science and technology.
• Specialty.
2. Pre-defense exercise of the thesis before an evaluation team.
3. Thesis defense exercise before the Tribunal.
1. Enrollment: $1,000.00 USD, once your enrollment has been accepted by the Academic Committee.
2. Examinations to demonstrate mastery of the contents of social problems of science and technology and the foreign language (languages approved for Spanish speakers are English, French, and German). The payments for each exam are $1,500.00 USD (total of $3,000.00 USD).
3. Pre-defense: $1,500.00 USD.
4. Defense: $2,500.00 USD.
5. Tutoring and advising of $4,000.00 USD to be paid in two equal installments of $2,000.00 USD each. The first during the first 30 days after enrollment in the program and the second before the pre-defense.
