Its objective is to train professionals with a solid scientific preparation that will allow them to contribute to increase the level of health of the population. The research topics will be related to scientific problems of the student's country of origin, although exceptionally, depending on the case, with previous authorization, the research could be carried out in Cuba. Once your application has been approved, you will be notified electronically to begin the corresponding procedures. The doctoral training programs use a system of cumulative credits, valid for five years. Doctoral students must have had a physical presence in Cuba for at least one year during the entire period of enrollment.
The examinations required to obtain the scientific degree are:
1. Minimum examinations.
* Foreign language (in the case of foreign doctoral students who are not native Spanish speakers, the language will be Spanish).
* Social problems of science and technology.
* Specialty.
2. Pre-defense exercise of the thesis before an evaluation team.
3. Thesis defense exercise before the Tribunal.
The doctoral training program has a total fee of twelve thousand USD (12,000.00 USD), divided in different moments:
1. Registration: 1,000.00 USD, once your registration has been accepted by the Academic Committee.
2. Examinations of mastery of the contents of social problems of science and technology and of the foreign language (approved languages for Spanish speakers: English, French and German). The fee for each exam is 1,500.00 USD (total of 3,000.00 USD).
3. Pre-defense: 1,500.00 USD.
4 Defense: 2,500.00 USD.5. Tutorial and counseling of 4,000.00 USD to be paid in two equal installments of 2,000.00 USD each, the first one during the first 30 days after the registration of the program and the second one before the pre-defense.
The doctoral training program is developed on the basis of the tutorial training according to the individual program approved by the commission of scientific degrees of the institution.
