This program aims to train a versatile specialist with the necessary knowledge to assume the roles of care, management, teaching, and research, typical of the field of intensive care and emergency medicine, in the areas of adult and child care.
The intensivist will promote, within the entire system of progressive care for critically ill patients, their participation in health programs and the improvement of care, raise the levels of health education, develop the public's trust in their institutions, and strengthen doctor-patient-family relationships.
The competencies to be acquired integrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of professionals, which are considered essential for developing a quality professional practice. These must be acquired during on-the-job training in the Obstetrics and Gynecology service, delivery room, operating rooms, outpatient clinics, medical on-call shifts, and rotations through other levels and institutions of the health system.
