Traditional and Natural Medicine allows for new possibilities in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, as well as the prevention and health promotion of individuals and the community, based on older medical concepts that differ from Western medicine, applied to the basic principles of our public health, and with the active participation of the population in the identification and solution of their own problems. This specialty interacts with other medical and stomatological specialties, both in basic and specialized medical care.
The curriculum structures its contents into five areas of training or areas of knowledge. These will be developed over a period of 3 years, with a full-time dedication in health services, linking the work component with the academic and the investigative, and contemplates during its development: residencies, courses, and rotations.
Based on the analysis of each of the functions defined in the profile, 33 modules were defined for comprehensive medical care, which are grouped into the 5 areas, 2 modules for administrative functions, and 1 module for investigative and teaching functions.
