Neonatology is the branch of medicine that encompasses the study of the healthy or sick newborn. It arose as a response to the need to satisfy comprehensive care for the neonate once health programs had been developed in other pediatric age groups.
The curriculum structures its content into 3 areas of training, composed of 16 modules. These will be developed over a period of 3 years, with a full-time dedication to training in the health services themselves, linking the work component with the academic, research, and management components. Its organizational structure in each year is the module, and these have been formed according to the assigned functions.
The curriculum is carried out in the Neonatology and Pediatrics services, with a full-time dedication in the services themselves, linking the work component with the academic and research components.
