Located in the Calixto García Hospital, it is the National Reference Center for the development of Gerontology and Geriatrics, as well as for research on longevity, aging and health in the elderly. The Hospital also assumes a leading role in the training and preparation of human resources dedicated to the care of the elderly.

It provides care to both national and foreign patients and develops specialized programs in physical rehabilitation, geriatrics, psychogeriatric, sexual dysfunction, urinary incontinence, osteoporosis, dementia, depression in the elderly, speech and nutrition disorders, among others.
