It was founded on December 1, 1966. On December 3, 2004, it was registered by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment as a Science and Technological Innovation Entity.

Its fundamental mission is to promote scientific research and technological innovation in the field of endocrinology, in order to respond to the fundamental health problems of the population, training and capacitating scientific and professional personnel for this purpose, and providing high-level medical care to the population with endocrine problems who require it.
