The master's degree in interventional cardiology is aimed at graduates of the cardiology specialty and selected by an academic committee that will evaluate their curriculum vitae. The objective is for the student to acquire knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and percutaneous treatment of ischemic heart disease, structural heart diseases, congenital heart diseases, and electrical disorders of the heart, as well as to know how to research these topics.
It has 4 rotations, an interventional cardiology service for adults, children, pregnant women, and arrhythmias and pacemakers. Conferences are given on the different modules or courses. Evaluations are carried out theoretically in seminars and case discussions, also with the presentation of individual and team works. At the end of the different rotations, the master's student must present a thesis on topics of interest. The graduate culminates with a master's diploma given by the Medical University of Havana with a total of 97 credits.
