The performance level achieved by top-level Cuban athletes is significantly and progressively supported by the results that Applied Sciences offer to sports, among which Biomedicine has played a prominent role. At this level, the requirements to be overcome by the athlete are increasingly greater, given very rigorous training, as well as frequent and demanding competitions. Therefore, medical control has as its fundamental premise to maintain the health status of the athlete, while contributing to the improvement of their performance indicators.
The purpose of Medical Control of Sports Training is to carry out a comprehensive and scientifically based evaluation of the behavior of the different biomedical parameters, which are modified with the training process based on the biological adaptations of the athlete's body.
The master's program is designed to respond to these growing current and future social needs, both nationally and internationally, with the incorporation of experiences accumulated through practice and research, in an environment of great scientific advances in the field of Medicine, Sports and Applied Sciences.
The program consists of 19 courses and three workshops, distributed in three areas:
-Research Tools
-Applied Sciences
-Medical control of training
It culminates with the presentation and defense of a thesis on a research topic related to the object of study.
Duration:
- Full-time modality (full time) 1 and a half years.
- Part-time modality (part time) 2 and a half years.
These deadlines allow for adjustments/reductions, according to specific interests.
