The Pedro Kourí Institute of Tropical Medicine (IPK) has been offering a Master's Degree in Epidemiology since 1984, with more than 34 completed editions. The program is aimed at physicians and other professionals, with a faculty of professors and tutors composed of doctors, graduates, and researchers from the IPK, the Institute of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology (INHEM), and the School of Public Health (ENSAP), as well as other distinguished scientific figures. This enables professionals to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to the strategies, techniques, and procedures of Epidemiology, which allow for the study and contribute to the solution of health problems for professionals who complete their master's degree.
The Program consists of three independent but related Diploma courses: Scientific Health Research, Applied Epidemiology and Community Research, and Epidemiology of Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases, with a total of 13 independent courses, three Integrative Exercises (one in each diploma course), three Thesis Workshops, and a final Methodological Workshop. The Program culminates with the presentation and defense of a thesis that responds in all cases to one of the IPK's lines of research.
Duration: two years.
Modality: blended learning.
