Menopause is a biological phenomenon that induces changes in women, increasing the risk of chronic diseases, aggravated by living conditions and gender overload—factors not included in the training of the personnel who provide care to this growing sector of the Cuban population.
This Master’s Degree arises from the need to train professionals with a medical–social approach for the comprehensive care of women in the climacteric stage. Its objective is to implement scientific research tools and technological innovation to develop a full-cycle research process based on the health problems of middle-aged women. The program is hosted at the Institute of Endocrinology, lasts two years, follows a blended-learning format, and includes weekly/monthly sessions.
It consists of 6 compulsory courses and 5 electives (2 to be chosen). It is taught by an excellent faculty made up of a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals. The program awards a maximum of 98 credits and a minimum of 92 credits corresponding to compulsory academic activities, plus up to 5 free credits for additional program activities. It is designed for university graduates (physicians, nurses, psychologists, physiotherapists, etc.) who provide care to middle-aged women.
