Hyperbaric Medicine is a field that has been little studied; therefore, the medical community has limited knowledge of its benefits, utility for patients, and impact on hospital costs. This led to the development of a Postgraduate Training Strategy aimed at achieving professional and scientific advancement of human resources through a Certification Ladder: an Introductory Course, two Diplomas (Underwater Medicine and Hyperbaric Oxygenation), training in Barotechnology, and culminating in the Master’s Degree in Hyperbaric and Underwater Medicine.
The objective of this program is to provide professional, academic, and scientific training in Hyperbaric and Underwater Medicine (HUM), so that graduates are able to master the clinical and scientific method, techniques, diagnosis, and treatment of patients eligible for HUM. The goal is to save resources, improve patients’ quality of life, and ensure their faster reintegration into society, while upholding professional, academic, and ethical excellence.
Duration: One and a half years, full-time.
