            The Master’s Degree in Neuro-ophthalmology program connects neuro-ophthalmology with other areas of the neurosciences, supported by various forms of postgraduate teaching-learning organization: lectures, workshops, practical classes, seminars, independent work sessions, and self-study.

            Its general objective is to implement research processes related to neuro-ophthalmology, based on a deep, well-founded, and scientific mastery of anatomy, associated diseases, diagnosis, and treatment, ensuring the resolution of scientific problems in this subspecialty.

            The curriculum consists of 14 courses:
            Philosophy and Society
            Introduction to Neuro-ophthalmology
            Research Methodology and Statistics
            Anatomical-functional Bases of the Afferent and Efferent Visual System
            Visual Electrophysiology, Diagnostic Tools, and Imaging of Neuro-ophthalmologic Interest
            Diseases of the Afferent and Efferent Visual Systems and Pupillary Pathways7 & 8. Basic Neurosciences Applied to Neuro-ophthalmology I & II
            Neuroimaging of Neuro-ophthalmologic Interest
            Neurological Diseases with Neuro-ophthalmologic Impact
            Neuropediatric Diseases of Neuro-ophthalmologic Interest
            Neurogenetic Diseases of Neuro-ophthalmologic Interest
            Neurosurgical Diseases with Neuro-ophthalmologic Impact
            Other Nervous System Diseases with Neuro-ophthalmologic Manifestations

            The core activities are research projects carried out by students under the guidance, supervision, and monitoring of tutors. Two thesis workshops are included, and as part of the evaluation process, students must present and defend their Master’s thesis.

            Duration: 18 months.
