The Master’s Degree in Geriatric Dentistry is an essential component of academic training, forming part of the fourth level of higher education, with new methodological and organizational approaches supported by both national and international experience.
Due to its strongly social and humanitarian character, the program addresses the needs of students by linking academic and professional practice with the challenges of population aging at the global level. In line with scientific and technical progress, it enhances professional competence by incorporating clinical, therapeutic, preventive, and social aspects related to oral health and disease in older adults.
This Master’s Degree is research-oriented, aiming to promote good oral health and the overall well-being of this population group.
The program is conducted by the Faculty of Dentistry, the cradle of Cuban Dentistry, with over 100 years of experience and a strong record in teaching, healthcare, and research.
Graduates of the Master’s Degree in Geriatric Dentistry will be equipped to:
Carry out clinical and epidemiological research.
Design and implement educational intervention programs on oral health in older adults.
Conduct health promotion and disease prevention activities in the family and community context.
Provide specialized dental care to meet the needs of older adults.
Participate in the training and continuous development of professionals in the field of Geriatric Dentistry.
