The Master’s Degree in Environmental Health was conceived in the early 1990s to be developed in a full-time, on-site modality. Its primary objective is to develop the capacity to design, apply, and evaluate research methods and their results, fostering a broad scientific culture and advanced knowledge in the field of Environmental Health, while enabling the development of investigative and teaching skills within the professional profile.

The program emphasizes the ability to develop, promote, and conduct scientific-technical studies and research, such as:
            Techniques for environmental impact assessment.
Analysis of psychological processes involved in environmental risk perception.
Identification of biological, chemical, and physical environmental risks for their prevention and control in exposed populations.
Identification and evaluation of environmental conditions necessary to maintain health and the search for potential solutions.
These competencies contribute directly to improving population health and quality of life.

Graduates of the Master’s Degree in Environmental Health are professionals capable of:
Diagnosing issues related to Environmental Health.
Evaluating and proposing technical solutions to problems in their area.
Developing and leading scientific research that deepens the understanding of identified problems.
Integrating intra- and intersectoral work teams, which is essential in the current redefinition of Environmental Health.
Applying epidemiological and risk assessment approaches in exposed populations, housing, schools, and healthcare institutions.
Designing and implementing intervention and control strategies, as well as fostering community participation in solutions aimed at improving both the environment and health.
