The Insat, Cuba’s national reference center for Occupational Health and a WHO/PAHO Collaborating Center, has as part of its mission the training, education, and professional development of human resources in Occupational Health.
The Master’s Degree in Occupational Health prepares professionals capable of identifying research problems in this field with a high theoretical and methodological level, in diverse contexts, and at the local, regional, national, and international levels. The program emphasizes a multi-, inter-, and transdisciplinary approach, fostering an integral perspective that incorporates contributions from different sciences to address the complexity of Occupational Health.
The curriculum focuses on the transmission of knowledge, tools, and the development of scientific research skills. It is structured as follows:
Core courses:
Fundamentals of Occupational Health (96 hours)
Philosophical Foundations (48 hours)
Research Methodology (288 hours)
Data Analysis (480 hours)
Pedagogy (96 hours)
Specialized courses (192 hours total):
Occupational Epidemiology
Work Physiology
Ergonomics
Occupational Health Psychology
Risk Factors: Physical, Chemical, Biological, and Environmental (69 hours each)
Occupational Clinical Practice (384 hours)
The program concludes with a Master’s Thesis, developed with continuous academic guidance through three workshops (96 hours each).
Modality: Part-time, with 75% of the workload dedicated to independent study.
Duration: 31 months.
