Villa El Yarey was built in the 1970s for administrative purposes, on the highest point of a hill known as Loma El Yarey. It was constructed in a rustic countryside style, with exterior masonry walls and wooden interior paneling, complemented by thatched roofs, wooden exterior railings, and large ranch-style structures made of the same materials.

Due to new national projects in the field of health tourism, in 2009 the Villa was selected to become part of the International Therapeutic Communities, of which three already existed in Eastern Cuba, aimed at treating people affected by addictions through the Cuban Program for Addiction Rehabilitation.

Villa El Yarey features a swimming pool, outdoor gym, à la carte restaurant, barbecue, cybercafé, Wi-Fi service, and several consultation areas including massage and relaxation rooms. It also offers extensive gardens where various naturopathic therapies are provided and which are ideal for practicing sports.

Since 2017, activities related to Wellness and Quality of Life have been added, alternating with those of the Therapeutic Community depending on occupancy rates. In this way, its social purpose has expanded, and the services provided have diversified.

Villa El Yarey is a unique place, not only because of the nature of its geography, but also because of the human excellence and high scientific level of those who work there. The combination of human and natural resources and the use of therapeutic techniques (pharmacological, psychological, and naturopathic) placed us one step ahead in this type of treatment.

The services offered include stress management, smoking cessation, emotional intelligence, burnout prevention, management of chronic non-malignant pain, a program with Proctokinase for the treatment of hemorrhoidal crises, and cardiovascular rehabilitation.
