The "Calixto García" Faculty of Medical Sciences is the legitimate heir to medical education in Cuba, which began in 1900, and is one of the country's leading advanced centers for medical education.
The Master's program in Medical Education began at this faculty in 2005, and since then, five editions have been developed. It was accredited in 2015 by the National Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Higher Education as a "Certified Program." It is aimed at professors who work in teaching, teaching-assistance, and research institutions and who require in-depth knowledge and updated skills in contemporary advanced education and training in the application of the scientific method.
It is developed in a blended format, with virtual support, on the Moodle platform through the Virtual Health Classroom.
Its influence is based on research as the main tool; it provides information based on the application of a methodology that will allow identifying the main needs and competencies in the fields of curricular design, the teaching-learning process, evaluation, learning resources, postgraduate education, university management, and special didactics. The graduate will be an educator with research qualities, capable of using conceptual and methodological tools to deepen the knowledge of the training and professional development process of human resources in Health Sciences and transform it.
Duration: 2 years and 6 months, 28 academic weeks and 3 reserve weeks.
